b. Collaborate with students, peers, parents, and community members using digital tools and resources to support student success

c. Communicate relevant information and ideas effectively to students, parents, and peers using  a variety of digital age media and formats

d. Model and facilitate effective use of current and emerging digital tools to locate, analyze, evaluate, and use information resources to support research and learning

Reflection

There are several different technologies used that meet Standard III. Documents created and shared in Google Drive allow collaboration when multiple users can add to or edit a document. A document created with Microsoft Word can be uploaded to Google Drive and shared with other users for collaboration. Gradebooks created with spreadsheet in Google Drive can be shared with colleagues to help target struggling students. Powerpoint presentations can be created collaboratively in Google Drive as well in order to create a presentation for a faculty or community meeting. Trackstar is an excellent resource for teachers to use to model and facilitate effective use of current and emerging digital tools for locating, analyzing, evaluating, and useing information resources. This program allows teachers to target specific sites for student to choose from when completing research.

The artifacts chosen for this standard demonstrate these characteristics and are linked below. The gradebook allows colleagues to view information and collaborate about students as well as individual assignments and to review data on particular students or on the class as a whole to determine the direction of future instruction. The reading fair letter requires use of the Layar app by the parents for augmented reality. The GoAnimate vido relays information to students and parents about an important event. The 50 States Trackstar project provides an effective use of digital tools for student to use for research and learning.

Standard III

Model digital age work and learning

Teachers exhibit knowledge, skills, and work processes representative of an             innovative professional in a global and digital society.

a. Demonstrate fluency in technology systems and the transfer of current                 knowledge to new technologies and situations

We live in a digital age, so it is expected that our work and learning environments           would reflect that. Communication between school and home is no longer only paper   based.  I plan to continue to use different ways to communicate with parents of my       students such as the Layar augmented reality project. It is a document, but it can be     delivered on paper or electronically and then scanned with a smart phone using the       Layar application.  The possibilites for use of this tool are endless.  I will also contine

I

to use methods such as GoAnimate to communicate important events and information.  This GoAnimate project was posted on my school district's website to notify not only our students, but the parents of other children in our community about our school's fall carnival.  I will continue to use digital tools such as spreadsheets to analyze and evaluate important information to guide my instrution so that I can meet learners where they are and determine the best instruction to help them achieve success.  Finally, Trackstar will be used for student research projects. This resource allows the teacher to provide specific websites on which students can conduct research. It ensures that information is retrieved from reliable sources and helps to eliminate distractions that may occur when students conduct a broad internet search.
