Reflection

This standard addresses issues with copyright laws and the importance of teachers following these laws to model that behavior for students. This is an important issue in today's culture in which there is easy access to information. It is important to use proper netiquitte as well as use social media responsibly.

The artifacts for this standard  are linked below.  They include a podcast that can be used to assist learners that may need special accommodations or learners in a virtual environment. A blog was chosen to demonstrate that students can reflect on their learning and comment on their classmates’ posts which promotes digital etiquette and responsible social interactions. A classroom website models responsible behavior and citing of sources used. The interactive poster provides access to appropriate digital tools and resources for student learning.

Standard IV

Facilitate and inspire student learning and creativity

Teachers use their knowledge of subject matter, teaching and learning, and             technology to facilitate experiences that advance student learning, creativity, and innovation in both face-to-face and virtual environments.

 a. Promote, support, and model creative and innovative thinking and inventiveness

There is a saying that with great power comes great responsibility.  With technology     and information literally at our fingertips at all times, there is a responsiblity to use       that power to maintain good citizenship.  It is my goal to instill this sense of                   responsiblity to my students by example.  The Google Sites website and the blogfoilio are examples of what I plan to use for students to see proper digital etiquitte and         responsible social interactions.  These interactions are examples of how my students

will interact with one another on their own blogs.  The podcast and Glogster project are an examples of how I plan to use learner-centered strategies for learners with diverse needs.  Students that may have specific learning abilities or accomodations may need information presented in different formats than only text.  I will continue to create learner-centered assignments for students of all ability levels.
